Some of you know that my book proposal was a no go at one of the publishing companies recently. They told Jill and I that it was because "the bean counters" came to the comclusion that the market was not looking good for crochet books and they were actually expecting a downturn in the purchasing of crochet items.
To this I say...if you keep putting crap out there of course people are not going to want to buy it!
Anyway, today I came across this on Robyn's blog.
Now, TAKE THAT un-named publisher!!!
Amen! Crocheters have taste, too and I for one am tired of seeing crap! Give me more like Robyn's Blueprint Crochet!
ReplyDeletePoopyheads. Your book would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteWell Marly, try, try again. Take your book proposal and go to a different publisher. Writers do that all of the time.
ReplyDeleteThat really sucks about your book. Crochet has come along way. There is so much you can do with it and it's just as hot as knitting. I personally agree with what you said

I think if they would put out cool stuff it would fly off the shelves. I don't know if you have seen it but Interweave Crochet magazine is a good magazine with some really cool up to date stuff. They have a web page at
http://www.interweavecrochet.com/
and a group @ Ravelry.com
Their loss - after TNNA I believe crochet is just beginning to peak in its renewed interest.
ReplyDeleteYou should totally print that and send it to the publishing company!!
ReplyDeleteTo which I add simply: YEAH, take that!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, that was fun.
I am slow but shawl is starting to look so pretty. I will try to take a few pictures next week of the wip.
