Crochet Dishcloth Free Pattern #2

!!!FREE PATTERN!!!

Never had I made a dishcloth before the other weekend. Actually, after the Harlot story I was a little afraid to make any!

But I told myself that I could do it and I did. Because I like the HARDINESS of the fabric that crochet makes I chose to use that method of stitching for my dishcloths. Figuring it wouldn't be very hard to pick a few stitch patterns that looked cool I pulled out my Crochet Stitch Bible and began to work them up.

Dishcloth #2: The Sprig Stitch

Yarn: 2 oz ball of Sugar n Cream in Butter Cream Ombre. (Didn't use whole ball)

Hook: size H/8 5mm

Stitch Guide:
chain
slip stitch
single crochet

Abbreviations:
  • ch - chain
  • sc - single crochet
  • sp - space

Finished Size: 14cm wide and 17cm high

Multiple of Stitches: 4 stitches + 2 (add 1 for foundation ch)

Pattern: Ch 26
  • Row 1: 2 SC in 4th ch from hook, 2 CH, 2 SC in next ch, *skip 2 ch, 2 SC in next ch, 2 CH, 2 SC in next ch, repeat from * to last 2 ch, skip 1 ch, 1 SC in last ch, turn.
  • Row 2: 3 CH, [2 SC, 2 CH, 2 SC] in each 2 ch sp, ending 1 SC in 3rd of 3 ch, turn.
  • Repeat Row 2: 15 times
  • Last Row: 3 CH, [2 SC, 2 CH, 2 SC] in each 2 ch sp, ending 1 SC in 3rd of 3 ch, finish off.

That's it! Easy huh?

Check back tomorrow and I will have another pattern for
another dishcloth...here is a hint...
