Crochet Lace Stole: Shelly
Well, I haven't shown you all any pictures lately have I? I am telling you I have been very busy. Here is a group of pictures of one project I have been working on and finished for my sister.
I called it Shelly after my sister Michelle.
The funny thing is that anybody who has made a prayer shawl before knows that making a prayer shawl or in this case a stole is something that a knitter or crocheter makes for a loved one when the loved one needs a little extra prayer. Well, my sister gets the emails from lion brand and I guess in a recent email they talked about prayer shawls.
That day, my sister called me on the phone and asked me to make her one. Now, this is when she was really sick...remember me telling you all about that?
I laughed when I got the phone call. I told her that she is not supposed to ask for one! LOL BUT, I also told her I already had one planned for her which is the truth.
Well, my sister and I are bigger girls...I am MUCH bigger than her but we are both the same height. I knew that she would want a longer stole and something that would not add too much bulk. BUT what do you do when she wants Lion Brand Homespun yarn? That just screams BULK RIGHT?
So, I designed a stole that would be light and Lacy.
Here is what I made :-)
I thought it would be funny to wrap her up in it like a straight jacket :-)

ooh, i like it a lot! and the pictures are great!
That is so pretty and doesn't look like a typical homespun thing at all. (I secretly LOVE homespun!)
Hmmm. . . idea! I found a ton of homespun at a thrift store and of course I couldn't pass it up. The problem was that I didn't know what I was going to do with it. But now I know! It looks beautiful!
fantastic job marly! what a cool sister you are!
Marly, that is a beautiful shawl! And how did you make Homespun look like that?! I need that pattern; I've got some stashed Homespun over here. :) Honestly, though, it's a beautiful shawl and your sister looks very happy with it!
What a beautiful stole! Great job with the design :)
Very pretty!

How did you make Homespun look so graceful? It's gorgeous!
Great finished object- and great sisterly love.
Happy knitting (and crocheting)-

Wow!! That's really gorgeous!! Ditto on the homespun, i like it but not to knit with, i always thought it would be better crocheted. I love that pattern, did you make that up?
Beautiful FO...you are making Homespun look awfully good.
A beautiful shawl. The perfect thing to cozy up in when you're feeling ill.
