Knitting Porn

Today, I open my front door to see what the wonderful mail woman as left me in my mail box. My mind wonders, will it only be bills, junk mail, late birthday cards or early Christmas cards? Maybe "it" will be here. The anticipation of real mail is almost unbearable when you are waiting for "it". For what you ask? Knitting Porn...that's right, the ever so delicately wrapped in plastic knitting magazine(s) delivered straight to my door by a goddess of mail.

Knitting Porn...the kind that can't wait to be opened and looked at, drooled on, thumbed through, and absolutely read all over; twice. In the bathtub, on the pot, walking on a treadmill or laying in bed, ...it doesn't matter where you look at your knitting porn, only that you look at it. The best thing about knitting porn is that you don't have to be ashamed of it!

I lay it out on my coffee table in a proud display. My husbands says to put it away but I say NO...it's ART. My friends come over and because I am a generous person I am I let them take a gander at my stash. They marvel at all the subscriptions that I have and comment that they too would like to receive knitting porn to their door. I tell them I too was once a mere on looker, never partaking of the fun but now I am a full on addict to the stuff.

I probably should warn them. You may start with one, something harmless like Knit Simple; then before you know it you too will own Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, INKnitter, Crochet!, Crochet, Knit.1, Knitter's and OH! A variety of Yarn Porn catalogues (these are full of the toys to use with the knitting porn). The options are plentiful! I should warn them, but the truth is...addicts love friends :-)

Hey,

There are more yarn sluts than just you out there you know!!

I'm waiting for 4 pounds of fiber to arrive from the UK. An early Birthday present from Mum & Dad. Some I will use to crochet - raw - ie. just drawn out & not spun. Other - I might blend some on the carder & spin it before crocheting. Other yet wil be for felting, either wet or needle.

Just did a craft fair this weekend. It was fun - ever done that? Was worth going - can't wait to get the check! Dished out some business cards too. We should get together & share a booth sometime - interested?

That's my comment for today! Should have been writing my newsletter for the site, but I guess it'll be a day or 2 late this month.

Recovering from a nasty cold. Almost better.

So - knit porn lady - adieu!
