Fall 2008

Got home last night from picking up the rental car (finally thank you Jesus!). I asked John if I could go and check my email. He asked me "why do you have to check you email right now?"

When he asked me that my mind began to swirl. Why did I have to check my email? Why was I still holding onto hope that I would hear from Kim Werker? Did I really think that she was going to contact me saying she wanted one of my patterns? Was I just setting myself up for more disappointment?

After all, I had been checking my email everyday since she told me on the podcast that she was going to be contacting the designers she wanted to use for the magazine in the next couple of weeks. Everyday, at least three times a day I would pop up my mail box and see if there was anything from Kim. And everyday there was nothing. Hope definitely had faded.

All of this going through my head as I looked at my pile of yarn sitting next to my chair waiting for me to make it into the next submission to IC. I took a deep breath, looked at John and I said, "I still have a glimmer of hope that I got in. I just want to go and check."

With that, I walked down stairs, clicked on my mail box and this is what I saw!!!

I'm very pleased to be in touch about your ---(edited to keep you in the dark :-)--- submission for the fall issue of Interweave Crochet. I'd like to accept them. The yarn will be ---(you know why)--- in a solid color. As such, I think a single color of ---(same drill different sentence)---will work best.
