Fall 2008
Got home last night from picking up the rental car (finally thank you Jesus!). I asked John if I could go and check my email. He asked me "why do you have to check you email right now?"
When he asked me that my mind began to swirl. Why did I have to check my email? Why was I still holding onto hope that I would hear from Kim Werker? Did I really think that she was going to contact me saying she wanted one of my patterns? Was I just setting myself up for more disappointment?
After all, I had been checking my email everyday since she told me on the podcast that she was going to be contacting the designers she wanted to use for the magazine in the next couple of weeks. Everyday, at least three times a day I would pop up my mail box and see if there was anything from Kim. And everyday there was nothing. Hope definitely had faded.
All of this going through my head as I looked at my pile of yarn sitting next to my chair waiting for me to make it into the next submission to IC. I took a deep breath, looked at John and I said, "I still have a glimmer of hope that I got in. I just want to go and check."
With that, I walked down stairs, clicked on my mail box and this is what I saw!!!

That is such wonderful news! Thanks for telling me. I am thrilled for you and what a way to begin. You know what's funny is that I just came in the door from my run where I was listening to you and Kim Werker chatting it up.

I go to Hawaii for a week to come back and find out that you are going to be a published designer!!!! Congratulations!!!! I can't wait to see the magazine when it comes out. You need to get Geri to do some kind of promotion at KK for you, being a "local" designer and all.....Way to go, girl
Betsy
Yeah!! Congratulations!!
I previously commented that I was having trouble with the audio on your podcast. I figured it out...I listen to you podcast at work only using the left ear bud. You come through loud and clear but your interviewees seem to only come through on the right side. I'm so glad I figured it out. Now I'll have to redownload the past few episode to find out what I've been missing!!
Congrats - I only recently found your podcast and just heard episode 16 when you mentioned that you would like to submit your pattern. Yay! good for you to realize your dream of being famous!!!
Congratulations, Marley. I also want to tell you how much I am enjoying your podcast, your style and content has really matured over the year. I love the interviews. And I love the fact you are promoting crochet more. I am a knitter who up to now only used crochet if I had to. I am fastinated by the "new" crochet and have even signed up for a crochet class at Knit and Crochet Show this summer! I let you know how it goes. Thanks for the great content and entertainment.
