Of Course I get the GREAT SOCK KNITTER!

Okay, so I am participating in a Sock Swap with a couple of other Arvada Knitters. The idea is to make a sock for your partner and on Tuesday we are supposed give the sock, the remainder of the yarn and the pattern used to that person and she will make the matching sock.

Here is my problem...the person I am supposed to make a sock for is a PROLIFIC SOCK KNITTER...I mean...she could give [lucyneatby](person) a run for her money! No joke.

Talk about pressure! I have to make sure this sock is perfect...but I am a tight knitter...she is a fairly loose knitter! I guess if she makes sure to get gauge it will be okay...but I don't want her to be unhappy.

What is a girl to do? I have been so overwhelmed by the thought of making this sock that I haven't even started.

No, no, no...I need to start now....right after I finish my submission, my comfy cardi and, and, and...

Oh...what is a girl to do?

ETA: GUESS WHAT...I AM ON THE YARN HARLOT BLOG!!! I am in the white shirt in the second row on the end in the second picture then if you scroll down a few pictures there I am holding the Alpaca Clouds Shawl I made!!! Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

Relax. That's my suggestion. Even the greats in any arena had to start somewhere and most of the good ones remember how hard it was when they looked up to their heroes. I think anyone that gets into a swap would appreciate that not everyone will be at the same level. Trust in your ability and in the other persons appreciation that you tried your very best. You never know, she might even love it and see ideas in it that she hadn't though of. Anyone that does their best has nothing to be ashamed of. I'm sure it will look great.

i know, it's stressful, huh??? in my opinion, we're ALL GREAT SOCK KNITTERS! I stupidly chose a pattern that I actually have to really concentrate on, so I am only at the gusset (toe-up too, my first time!)...... i am wondering if the others would oppose to delaying our swap til the weekend??? but there are other things that need to be knit, like you said. I have been trying to finish a test knit for a friend who's already publishing her pattern now!!! aaargghhhh!!!! why aren't there more hours in the day???? or at least during Satya's naptime???

oh, yeah, and I AM SO ENVIOUS THAT THE YH TOOK YOUR PIC AND PUT YOU ON HER BLOG!!!! I really wish I could've gone, but these days, if I stray at all from Satya's nighttime routine, I am punished all night for it.

I saw you earlier tonight over at Yarn Harlot's blog and thought I'd stop by and say hi. Fun stuff!

Just knit the sock and enjoy the swap- if it isn't fun, then it's just plain work... Keep it fun!

Happy knitting-

Your sock will work out. Don't fret. Just knit like you always do and if she is good, she will make hers to match yours.

You shouldn't stress about this silly girl! Just get done what you can and don't worry about it. It is just for fun anyway. I don't have my sock done for the swap either. I am glad the exchange was moved to Saturday.

Just so you know you are the one that introduced me to the Yarn Harlot. Had no idea who she was. So I was super excited to see you on her blog. Congrats! You are just making all kinds of famous friends. As far as the sock. . . swaps are all in good fun, I'm sure it will be fine.
